About Us

Welcome to "It's Your Smoky Mountains," a vibrant community and comprehensive resource dedicated to celebrating and preserving the beauty, culture, and heritage of the Smoky Mountains. Our website was born from a deep-seated passion for this majestic region, a place where nature’s splendor and rich history converge to create an unparalleled experience for residents and visitors alike.

Our Origin Story

The inspiration for "It's Your Smoky Mountains" came from countless hours spent hiking the trails, exploring the valleys and towns, and soaking in the breathtaking vistas of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. As enthusiasts who have been mesmerized by the natural beauty and tranquility of the Smokies, we realized that our love for the mountains was something we wanted to share with others. This realization led to the creation of "It's Your Smoky Mountains," a platform designed to bring together like-minded individuals who share a common appreciation for this extraordinary region.

Our founders, a group of friends with diverse backgrounds in local history, tourism, outdoor recreation, and digital media, pooled their expertise and passion to build a community where everyone can find valuable information, share experiences, and contribute to the preservation of the Smokies. We envisioned a space where people could learn about the mountains, plan their adventures, and connect with others who cherish this national treasure.

Thanks To Corey @ GatlinburgNow for insight and help in this endeavor.   He is the only one out of hundreds who was willing to help with the creation of this site.
